After graduating high school I plan to attend Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. This is where I will pursue a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. This degree will prepare me to take the Texas Board of Nursing’s license test, which will allow me to become a Registered Nurse. After becoming I Registered Nurse I plan to travel engaging in my profession. Nursing is an important goal in my life. “They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel”, Maya Angelou. Nurses touch the lives of many on a daily basis.
A nurse’s interaction with a patient is more frequent and longer lasting than the interaction with the doctor. Therefore the nurse makes all the difference. I designated nursing as my profession because I would love to make an impact on lives. We enter this world with nothing and we leave here with nothing. However, it is what you do in between these two times that makes the difference. Nursing would give me the opportunity to make a difference in other lives as well as my own. I am a first generation student, which makes my goal even more important to me.
Helping people is the most fulfilling thing in the world. My ultimate goals include, becoming a Registered Nurse and provide my family and myself with a happy life. A college education will aid in accomplishing both of these goals. A college education is not only important to achieve my career aspiration but also important in achieving an adequate job in this struggling economy. A college education is an important part of my life and is something I will hold with the up most seriousness. “When you’re a nurse, you know that every day you will touch a life or a life will touch yours,” Anonymous.
