According to the Harvard Kennedy School’s library services, Think Tank is a search engine that organizes institutions associated with universities, advocacy groups, foundations, government and non-governmental institutions, and industries that produce organizations that have helped serve several groups of people. Some of the most recognized Think Tanks are located all over the world and provide services for entire continents. In the United States alone, there are 200 plus organizations. Although all of them are important, the three most relevant to me are American Foreign Policy Council, Environmental and Energy Study Institute, and the Heritage Foundation. The American Foreign Policy Council, abbreviated AFPC, is a non-lucrative organization that was established in 1982. The AFPC provides data to try to influence foreign policymakers and world leaders to defend the policy in other countries. Worldwide it aims to establish democracies and provide a system where the laws of supply and demand direct the production of goods and services through a fair market economy. This organization is important for people who were not born in this country because they collaborate with a member of the house of representatives in the United States to ensure law procedure abroad are fair. To give the United States growth and safety the American Foreign Policy Council take three measurements into account. First, it establishes meetings between other countries and an American political figure to come to an agreement. Second, it offers valid policy choices and information. Finally, it deals with fair market economies in other countries. It is because of these types of organizations that the world has hopes for a better future, not only here in the United States, but also in places like the Middle East and Asia. Another important organization is the Environmental and Energy Study Institute. This non-profit organization deals with policies that affect the environment, agriculture, transportation, the economy, and energy. This organization educates policymakers through fact sheets, newsletters, and experts presenters to try to persuade them to make positive changes that will stop climate change. Climate change has affected the weather in horrific ways. There have been floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunamis. These catastrophes have cost destruction, property damage, and even American lives. These destructive phenomena have made policymakers rethink about the way people use energy and come up with innovative ways to decrease climate change. They aim for a low carbon and clean energy solution to make a difference. The United States benefits from this organization because in the long-run more efficient technology will emerge and it will be environmentally healthy.
