Although maybe you. Remember it is never

Although the notion of the Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act is a brilliant idea we must look at what
freedoms we are losing by instituting a policy of this nature.  I do not believe the trade-off is worth
it.  We the United States of America who
had the best healthcare in the world have taken a back seat to technology and
advancement by allowing socialized medicine to take over.   Brit Hume’s clever remark was, “Purpose of
Obamacare:  Insure the uninsured.  Effect of Obamacare to date:  Un-insure the insured.”  Your healthcare is no longer between you and
your doctor, it is now between a government bureaucrat (IPAP), and possibly
your doctor and maybe you.  Remember it
is never too late to let your local politician hear your opinion on these
issues that concern you and your rights.

reiterated by President Trump in his First State of the Union Address, “The individual mandate
is now gone.”  This required people to obtain
insurance or pay a fee.  President Trump
also stopped federal payments that help insurance companies cover lower-income
customers who pay less under Obamacare.
Hopefully, the next step will be a full repeal of Obamacare.

Other facts about Obamacare that I
find troubling are free health care services for all non-US citizens.   Ben
Stein sums it up best when he said, “Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that
requires every citizen to prove they are insured…but not everyone must prove
that are a citizen.”  Now add this, “Many
of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove that they are citizens will
receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance
because they are citizens.”  Think about
that for a while.  There is admission
inside the actual text of the plan that states, “Your health care will be
rationed.”    The government will
pay ACORN to sign-up individuals on government run health care plans.  All private insurance plans must conform and
participate in the health care exchange.
The tax imposed under this act shall not be treated as a tax.  The government will set values on doctor’s
time and professional judgment; set mandates and control healthcare.  Doctors are prohibited from owning and
investing in healthcare companies.
Hospitals are prohibited from expanding without government
approval.  Government mandates programs
that order end of life treatment to guide you in death.

Another hot topic in ACA concerns
death panels.  This is a group of people,
known as the Independent Payment Advisory Panel (IPAP) that decides if a
patient should live or die.  This is a
governmental way to control health care costs by saying no to patients facing
serious illnesses.  These death panels
are empowered to decide if treatments or procedures cost too much and therefore
will not be covered under Medicare programs.
This is a true picture of socialized medicine in all its glory!   In a brief online video called “Best
Obamacare Deconstruction You Will Ever See” by the Young Conservatives,
you get a behind the scenes look at the real issues and fluff surrounding
Obamacare.  For instance, the President
said that AARP and the AMA are supporting the Affordable Care Act but when the
actual doctors were polled, 70% do not support AMA’s position on Obamacare and
77% claim the AMA does not reflect their individual views.  The AMA views are only shared by 17% of
doctors nationwide.  Also another fact
that came out, the doctors that were present for the Presidents rollout of the
plan in the Whitehouse garden representing all 50 states were a false
representation.  These doctors dressed in
their “spiffy” white coats as the President commented, are a group
known as “Doctors for America” or “Doctors for Obama” who are
political supporters that were asked to show up and where their white lab coats
for the media.   Another interesting fact
is that the President quotes charts and figures based over a 10 year projection
to be $940 billion but the graph only goes out 6 years because the law was
signed in 2010 but did not go into effect until 2014 so the first 4 years are
nil.  However, if you extend the graph to
the actual 10 years (2014 to 2023) the projected cost rises dramatically to
$1.8 trillion.    Also, we were told ACA will lower rates,
provide better quality care, and better access to doctors but in reality, 45
states will have significant rises in premiums.   We were also told that the plan was modeled
on Massachusetts’ plan because it works but it was not disclosed that
Massachusetts has the most doctors per capita and now the longest wait times in
the country to see a doctor.   If Obamacare is really based on Massachusetts
plan what will this mean for your state?
We were told no bureaucrat will get between the care you need.  If that is so, than why is the IPAP in place
to regulate care.   I urge you to watch
this video
before you support or not support Obamacare so that you can judge the facts for
yourself.  Rush Limbaugh said, “This
Obamacare program has Obama’s name on it.
He lied to people to three years about the program.  People trusted him.  People believed what he told them.  They believed that he was going to improve
the health care system in this country, and it was going to get cheaper, more
affordable, more plentiful.”

            After discussing Obamacare (ACA)
with my parents, I am against the plan and believe it is doing more harm to the
country and hope it can be repealed in the future.  Some of my bones of contention came from the
discussion, my in-depth research on line, and from reading excerpts of the
Affordable Care Act.  My first problem
with the plan is if it is so great why are the politicians in congress and the
senate not obligated to be covered under Obamacare?   I feel what is good for the general public
should be just as good for the politicians especially those who voted for the
plan.  Some parts of the plan required
coverage that is against the moral value of people, employers and religious
beliefs, as described in the mandate that offers contraception.  If the US allows freedom of religion, how could
they initiate a health care act that infringes upon that right?  There are many lawsuits filed on behalf of
employers against contraception due to religious beliefs mandated to give their
employees this option.   I view Obamacare
as a loss of health care as we knew it based on a confidential relationship
with your doctor to a government controlled entity making medical decisions for
you without knowing you.   With
government interference, I could see doctors needing to practice medicine
within guidelines as to what tests they can order and what medicines they can
prescribe.  These measures are not an
improvement in health care but in reality, a rationing of medical services and
most of all deprivation of decisions that should be made by doctor and patients.

Now to look at the disadvantage of
ACA:  It is a complicated system with
tiers of insurance coverage like bronze, silver, gold and platinum
coverage.  President Obama original said
if you like your current insurance you can keep it!  However over a million people lost their
current insurance coverage due to non compliance of the plans with ACA.   Jay Leno even commented, “First, the
President guaranteed you would be able to keep your own doctor.  Now they’re saying you might be able to keep
your doctor.  In fact, today, the
President was forced to change his slogan from ‘Yes We Can’ to ‘Perhaps We
Could Try.”‘  Hospital reimbursements
from Medicare were changed from a fee for service plan to a value-based payment
system.  The law requires physicians to
computerize all patient medical records.
It is unclear if ACA reduces the deficit which is the main reason it was
passed as law.  It was estimated to lower
the deficit by $143 billion although projections are that it will actually add
$1.76 trillion in debt.  Families will
lose some tax deductions on medical costs because the ACA raised the deductible
level from 7.5% to 10% of adjusted gross income.  Higher income families will pay additional
Medicare taxes, affecting over one million individuals and over 4 million
couples.  Up to 5 million people are in
jeopardy of losing their company sponsored health insurance plan because
businesses may find it more cost effective to pay the penalty versus continue
the healthcare coverage.  Dr. Ben Carson
said, “You know Obamacare is really I think the worst thing that has happened
in this nation since slavery…it was never about health care.  It was about control.”

The Affordable Care Act known as ACA
for short has many benefits like:  Lower overall healthcare costs by
providing insurance for millions of people and providing free preventive
care.   It requires all insurance plans
to cover ten essential health benefits including treatment for mental health,
addictions, and chronic diseases.  Insurance
companies can no longer deny anyone coverage for preexisting conditions.  Life time and annual limits on insurance coverage
has been eliminated.  Parents can insure
their children up to age 26 under their health insurance plan.  It requires states to set up insurance exchanges
or to use the Federal Government’s exchange to shop for insurance plan as well
as provides a tax credit for insurance to the middle class.  It expanded Medicaid to 138% of the
applicants.  Businesses with more than 50
employees must offer health insurance, and receives tax credits to help with
the costs.

we give government the power to make medical decisions for us, we, in essence,
accept that the state owns our bodies.”  Nationwide
people, groups, political parties, and employers are questioning the constitutionality
of the law to total opposition.  Your
doctor is no longer in charge of your health care.  Sometimes they must consult with your
insurance company before they can treat your illness or disease.  To some people’s horror, doctors are stopped
from treating people based on age, disease, and life expectancy.  Michael Moore said, “Obamacare is awful.  This is the dirty little secret many liberals
have avoided saying out loud…”  With such
controversy, I felt it was only fair to present both sides and more importantly
in a satirical manner.

The signing of Obamacare into law by
President Obama is hailed as one of his greatest achievements because many of his
predecessors tried to enact healthcare reform unsuccessfully.  This legislation represents the most
comprehensive overhaul of America’s healthcare system since the institution of
Medicare and Medicaid in the 1960’s.  A
good feature about Obamacare is that it requires insurance companies to cover
all applicants regardless of pre-existing conditions.   However, although this is a good benefit for a
large percentage of the population, it is insignificant compared to the
magnitude of the challenges to the healthcare law.  Ron Paul said,

also known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was enacted to
provide health insurance coverage to millions of Americans who were
uninsured.  This new policy like all new
polices met fierce opposition from both the Republican and Democratic parties
as well as a large majority of the population.
After the long awaited rubber stamp of approval, came the obstacle to
actually sign people up for the new health insurance coverage.  What seemed like a simple process turned into
a major battleground with top officials getting fired and the general public
scrambling to understand the options and successfully navigate the flawed website
to sign up or face a penalty.   With our
Constitution and Bill of Rights it was hard for the government to force people
to apply for this mandated insurance, therefore, the government classified the
insurance as a tax making it enforceable for the government to enact, collect
and penalize people for not participating.
Senator Ted Cruz said, “If Americans really wanted Obamacare…You
wouldn’t need a law to make them buy it.”
Although Obamacare was enacted to improve the health care choices and
availability to millions of Americans, it is plagued with major problems and
basically changing health care as we knew it to socialized medicine.
