Attitude. The way you
think or feel and the persons behavior will bring success to the game. When you’re
playing in a game of soccer, football, basketball, gymnastics, etc., your
attitude before entering the game will determine the outcome, your outcome.
Your attitude sets a standard for the team to follow. All it takes is one
negative mindset to set a domino effect for everybody. I have once read, “The
longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to
me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education,
than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other
people think or say or do. It is more important than appearances, giftedness,
or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable
thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for
the day. We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will
act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do
is play on the one string we have, and that is attitude. I am convinced that life is
10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so, it is with you, we
are in charge of our attitudes” (Swindoll, Charles).
Philosophy is the Greek word for love and wisdom. It

I align myself with this particular philosophy for an
outstanding amount of reasoning’s. But, I will only mention the importance. I
believe we all need and deserve a hand of help. I do not believe that we go
through life alone. With that being said, being a part of a team and being
physically fit comes from a deeper truth within us. The inner truth of, are you
determined? Are you prepared for the end result? Are you scared of failure? Do
you doubt? Is there self-confidence? I once doubted myself. I’ve believed that
if I fail, I will fail again. But I’ve also discovered the meaning of the
questions I’ve been asking myself. I’ve organized and formed a philosophy based
on exercising and maintaining a healthy diet in which I will mention further on.
There were days I would feel unmotivated, exhausted and too sore. I would make excuses
“I have no time.” But one day, I began to observe others. I observed their
techniques and facial expressions during their workouts. I’ve noticed grins
that have walked through the door and walked out with smiles. I’ve became aware
that exercising wasn’t just their hobby or sport, it was their medicine. Attitude,
is how we perceive things and it is without a doubt a learned act of behavior. Communicating
with others, learning through others, has developed and opened my mind to
another door in the fitness world. All these different perspectives from each
individual revolved around thing, now including my own.
When most people are feeling tired or hurt, they quit.
They finally start working towards their goal but then stop. They stop because
it hurts a little bit and then they start crying and complaining. But why cry and
complain to stop? Why not cry to keep going and receive a reward from it? Take
the experience, learn from it and move forward with it.
My
goal is to take this concept and apply it to a team and to clients. As a certified
personal trainer and future coach, I want to portray attitude of motivation,
confidence, and willingness to consider new ideas.
