Context and Theory of Knowledge Essay

Context doesn’t always have to be truthful. It depends on what position the context is observed in. If context is supplemented with society, truth matters. If it is a personal observation, in most cases the truth will get you out of trouble. One area of knowledge that can be controversial and doesn’t have to be truthful is art. One area that involves consideration and can be involved controversially is science. This is one of the most factual that can be errored very easily. Within art, there are many contentious topics that make a stair step to society.

For example, the Shrewd of Turin is viewed in many ways based on the Christian beliefs. Even though this important part of history is talked about and is encased by the Catholic Church, there have been many scientists that have argued that it’s either made by a print or carbon dating to provide a sufficient solution to whether it’s true or a fallacy. The Da Vinci code is also significance towards whether it is a woman and all the clues hidden behind them or perhaps just Leonardo himself proposed as a woman. In the sense of subjective art this cannot be objective and cannot be gained by any knowledge. When context is thrown into this category it will not have anything to do with the artistic views because the drawings are made upon other’s experiences and perceptions. I may perceive that the shrewd of Turin is just an old man but others may take into consideration that this is evidence that Jesus was engraved upon the cloth. Arguments proposed by art can come from similar cultures and they can be examined by a piece of art but have so many different interpretations. When art is secluded upon knowledge this starts to question what is knowledge.

Artwork contains knowledge that only a person with the mentality of their specific culture understands can perceive. When you grab the artwork it can then be knowledgeable because of what you pertain based on your understandings and surroundings. Throughout many time periods, such as rococo and baroque; artists have been able to make paintings based what has happened and what feelings are associated with a certain war or achievement. Political cartoons can also come into contact with art what the person perceives based on the knowledge they’ve gained.

In US History, we have studied that Theodore Roosevelt has many accomplishments. One of the sayings carried by Roosevelt is “speak softly but carry a big stick”. When this piece of information is seen with a man and a big stick, this can be very random and could be thought to be an experience of some master or strong founding father. If someone has been updated by Roosevelt’s presidency, within context he/she will know exactly who he is and what the picture represents. In some ways, art can sometimes only have one meaning or one interpretation.

If you decide to sign up for an IB music class, you will need to know how to analyze the lyrics, notes, and sound. Also, you will need to read in between the lines of music. This is one type of art in context that can be analyzed alone. Within art, there are many ways of knowing.

You may choose to interpret it using your perception, language, and or the emotion you feel towards a simple or abstract painting. Within science, it is very crucial to use correct context and eliminating what they already know. Science is more likely to be argued for the different functions it holds and it may be applied. Most likely, science is put into a mathematic category. This is because part of an experiment involves correct evaluation and factual steps.

In order for a scientist or an observer to conduct an experiment, they must have the correct data at all times. The scientific method must include a legitimate hypothesis and accurate observation skills. In our society, science is so modern they make it a religion since it proves so many problems and theorems. This leads to axioms and how the way things are meant to be are always correct. When solving a math problem, it may require a couple of steps.

While you are doing this problem if you encounter a slight error this may lead to a problem in the whole equation and a wrong answer. This is the same with science and how it should be considered cautious. A question was brought about whether mathematics is safe or not. Most likely it cannot be.

If mathematics was discovered by a man and it was accidental, this may mean that the entire math that we calculate is also an accident. Math is safe in that it can be used in everyday applications in people’s lives but the creativity is so broad. From statistics, this can be evaluated over a widespread to trigonometry which involves problems that have to be calculated correctly. Scientifically, errors are more likely to occur if the correct person does not provide sufficient matters.

Science leads to artificial juxtapositions between cultures and traditions. When people cough they would now rely that the germs and bacteria has contaminated an affected area. Others would say that this is from the evil spirits because of a harmful sin. Perception plays an immense role on how a theory or postulate may be proven. If Copernicus knows that the Earth rotates around the sun it could be different that Ptolemy believes that the sun and stars revolves around the Earth. When observing, careful expectations are to be foretold and/or memorized so they can trial again for the same answer.

Even though both scientists have perceptional differences they both conclude with the same stimulus. Science may sometimes be accidental as well. When Roentgen “invented” the x-ray, he actually did it without purpose. Not saying that anyone can make accidents and yet an invention but often times this may occur.Science is one of the largest aspects of how context needs to be truthful in this category of knowledge. Both art and science play an important role of how and why people ask the questions they ask.

If the truth is held on, most likely troublesome will be less likely and less controversies will be associated. Art can be truthful in the sense of music and on one’s perception and the rest interpretational. Science is the most observant in context and should be used correctly so social misshapes cannot occur.
