The environment of a correctional facility can impact the development of suicidal ideations (WHO, 2007). This paper aims to analyse the risk factors for suicidal thoughts that may lead to suicide and the preventive measures put in place to avoid such things, complemented with the following research questions:Which factors are significant for the development of suicidal thoughts and ideations?What preventative measures are effective in hindering these developments?
