diseases. Furthermore,
it is important that teenage girls their birth control pills for just in case
anything bad happens, for safety.

Choices have consequences, and when it
comes to teen pregnancy, I believe that teenage years are one of the most
vulnerable ages that human beings have to deal with. Teenagers are constantly
making illiterate mistakes in all aspects of their lives. They are trying to
fit into society, they are dealing with peer pressure, they feel insecure; they
feel that they are not pretty enough, so to make them feel confident they make
decisions without thinking things through beforehand. Teenage childbearing has
modest, which is easy to cause these sorts of situations in everyday life, but
significant negative effects on early socioeconomic outcomes. Teen girls do not
become aware of the outcome of having sexual intercourse and then eventually
someday they will face their consequences. The social economic problems that
most pregnant teens are facing are persistent poverty, as well as dropping out
of high school. To continue, the United States has one of the highest teen
pregnancy rates especially here in the Rio Grande Valley. Being a “newcomer”
parent is the leading reason that teen girls drop out of school. Only about
fifty percent of teen mothers receive a high school diploma by twenty-two years
of age, whereas approximately ninety percent of women who don’t give birth
during teen years graduate from high school. It is accurate that more than
fifty percent of teen mothers never graduate from high school. Also, child abuse
and neglect have become a big problem when becoming a teen mother. Teenage mothers exhibit
higher rates of child abuse than older mothers do. According to the PEW
charitable trusts, Hispanics current teen pregnancy rate is forty-two births
per one thousand, and ten percent declined since twenty twelve. Other factors
such as lower economic status, lack of social support, and high stress levels
contribute to the link between young parents and child abuse. Each year child
abuse and neglect occur. There are many reasons why teen mothers who are not
mentally stable hurt their children. Teen mothers may have a myriad of tasks
and sometimes those tasks are hard to handle. In
2014, there were 24.2 births for every 1,000 adolescent females ages 15-19, or
249,078 babies born to females in this age group.i
Nearly 89 percent of these births occurred outside of marriage.1 The
2014 teen birth rate indicates a decline of nine percent from 2013 when the
birth rate was 26.5 per 1,000.1 The
teen birth rate has declined almost continuously over the past 20 years. In
1991, the U.S. teen birth rate was 61.8 births for every 1,000 adolescent
females, compared with 24.2 births for every 1,000 adolescent females in 2014.
Still, the U.S. teen birth rate is higher than that of many other developed
countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom.2iiTeens who have babies
are having to much stress at home because I know that being a parent is a
rigorous task. Being a parent, means that you have a lot of responsibilities,
and one of those responsibilities is to make sure that your baby is well taken
care of. Also, teen mothers have stress in school because taking care of a baby
may distract them from focusing in class and taking care of assignments.
Sometimes, depression may hit a young mother, young mother may feel this
instant when doing everything alone. Sometimes when having violence in a
relationship, mostly give their anger towards babies. There many solutions to
these kinds of problems. Sexual abstinence, this method is a really safe
practice which it protects people from getting any sexual transmitted diseases.
Teaching sex education to emphasize the importance of abstinence which will
prevent any teen girl going through any phase to be pregnant at the most
vulnerable age. According to teen pregnancy, we have to promote the use of
protection. In order to have protective sex, it is necessary to have condoms to
prevent from getting sexual transmitted
