January 10, 2017INTRODUCTIONMany environmental related conflicts has been becoming the cause of corrupting wildlife and nature due to the how products are being used by people like us and other invasive beings harming other species that are not usually targeted. A common issue that being confronted in this world currently is called the production of pesticides and fertilizers. Pesticides and fertilizers prevents pests from damaging plants and gives them a well amount of nutrients needed in order for them to grow healthy. Comparing it back in 1994, and 2015 it has been shown that most households has increased their use of fertilizers or pesticides in their lawn or garden in Canada in 1994 and improved a lot until 2009. However the stats are slowly going up. This has proven to us that these people may not be aware about the consequences that it can contribute to corrupting the wellbeing of our environment and wildlife.The main idea of this research is to find the main conflict, explain the benefits and consequences of it being used as well as showing different ways to reduce it.  II.

    PROBLEM The problems in this research is “What are the positive and negative impacts that pesticides and fertilizers do to the environment?” and “Are advices that citizens should use to solve this problem?”III. ENVIRONMENTAL AND CHEMICAL IMPACTS The use of pesticide and fertilizers both have positive and negative influences. Their chemicals are both used to boost up the amount of yields which allows more production of food, oxygen and products being used everyday. Although it may cause risks, it will also bring damages to the environment and to the living species. Pesticides prevent our crops from being destroyed for it controls the population of invasive species that are damaging it. They help yield more production of the food and drop the chances of diseases from being spread.

Whereas for the plants, nutrients are provided by fertilizers such potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen. Natural fertilizers, like manure, improve the quality of fertility for the soil by feeding microorganisms in the soil, reducing erosion and keeping soil well hydrated. Both pesticides and fertilizers have a positive impact to our environment.

They both helps increases our yields and keeping it healthy while corrupting the environment at the same time.The negative impacts of pesticides on human health and environment are deleterious. It can increase the rate of having a mental or physical health problems for people such as if pesticides are exposed to children, it will increase their chance of leukemia and brain cancer, and exposure to pregnant can have higher chance of miscarriage.

The lungs and nervous system can be damaged by pesticides. In the wildlife, they pollute the air, water and ground causing living species to die or become ill. Leading to oxygen loss in waterways is known due to the “quick-release” fertilizers. High amounts of nitrogen find paths into waterways creating overloads of algae and leading a loss of oxygen in the water which can negatively affect fish and other aquatic living beings in the water.

IV. SOLUTIONS             The solution to keep minimize this conflict is inform other citizens to be aware of the situation and suggest some ideas on how to reduce pesticides from constantly harming the environment such as keeping the pesticide products in an safe closed area such an closed bin with a lid to help remind the user to use it when necessarily, and to be thrown away in a proper way so that it won’t contaminate or affect other organisms. Another example for fertilizers is minimize the pollution. Citizens are to improve the water quality by making sure that it is clean, reduce the amount of fertilizers being used at a certain time, keep the crops concealed to prevent erosions, plant trees, shrubs or tree around fields to absorb or filter out nutrients before going into the water.V.
