Joy Cannot Exist Without Pain Essay

“It is always by way of pain one arrives at pleasure”-Marquis de Sade. This quote describes life and the obstacles throughout it. The people who have been through the most pain truly know what joy is. A lot of people go through struggles and pain at more than one point of their life. For some people, it is more enduring than others. However, everybody must suffer some sort of pain and must struggle at some point in their life in order to truly experience joy and happiness. Joy cannot exist without pain because pain makes you grateful for joy, you have to endure pain and pain and joy are the some of the most significant things in life.

When one has gone through pain and difficult times in their life and things do get better, they realize they have obtained joy and appreciate this delightful feeling. The movie, Pursuit of Happyness, shows how thankful someone is for joy after vast amounts of suffering. The actor goes through a fight through poverty for a fair amount of time with his baby son. One day, something good finally happens and the man becomes rich. Even if you feel like giving up, there will always be something which will hold you together, in this case it was the man’s baby son.

When the man became wealthy, he did not take it for granted, instead he appreciated what happened and was truly happy and thankful. No matter how hard things might get, it is just another obstacle in life which you have to fight. You will be blessed with joy after the pain strikes you. Once things become better, do not take it be cocky about it, but be thankful for those times. Whether you believe it or not, truly happy people have been through large amounts of pain. The people who have gone through a hard times appreciate joy the most because they know how precious happiness is.

A friend of mine lost her mum from cancer about two years ago. Her mum was everything to her, yet she lives her life to the fullest and is happy every day. Her friends loved her a lot and she had many people who cared for her which brought her away from the misery. My friend has to be the strongest person I know, emotionally. This proves that even though bad things hurt us and make us weak, there will always be something to bring us up. Joy will reward us at one point, we just have to be patient. Joy cannot exist without pain because pain happens to everyone, and to the eople who have the most struggle appreciate happiness even more. Unfortunately, some people do not appreciate the redeeming things that happen to them, and their life just becomes a cycle of misery. Do not make the mistake of tossing away happiness, because it might not last for long. When things get better, take advantage of those days and live them to the fullest. Life is what you make it, so whether you are dealing with bad times or living the “amazing life”, always keep your head up and keep going in this journey of life. People who take each day as it comes, and appreciate the beneficial times will have a better life.

Other people who are still regretting the past and being miserable have not established what living is all about. Pain will affect you throughout your whole life, whether you are the wealthiest or the poorest man. If something good happens to you, make the best out of it and move on from the past. Rarely anything in life comes naturally, unless it is money or just a lucky natural talent. You have to work hard for everything in life, otherwise you will get no where. If you are going through a hard time in life, put it aside and focus on what you can do to make things better.

If you are someone who believes that your whole life will be awful and dreadful, in most cases it will be. Sometimes, things are not getting any better because you are not willing to try to make things better. You are not making your self have anything to live or die for. Everyone experiences joy, but it is whether or not one acknowledges the prosperous times as an advantage to keep going through the challenges. Many of the successful singer or actors have been through so much grief. Instead of throwing everything they had away, they worked hard to conquer their dreams.

You should not just sit around waiting for something good to happen to you, make something good happen to you! Work hard to achieve your dreams, or you won’t get anywhere! As Gandhi said, “ Be the change you want to see in the world. ” If you are unhappy about something, fix it instead of whining about it. For example the famous rapper, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, had an extremely hard life before he was famous. His mother died when he was only fourteen, he did not know who his father was, he started dealing cocaine at fifteen, he was shot nine times and he had no one to tell him protect him and motivate him.

But instead of grieving on what had happened to him and hating him self, he started rapping and went for his dreams to become famous. Guess what? This man is now one of the richest rappers alive. This proves that no matter how hard your life is, if you strive for success and look at things positively, you can do anything. Stop trying to look for more pain, and find the beauty in life. If one looks at how beautiful life is, they will be truly happy and appreciate everything. Work for your dreams, and someday you will accomplish them. Take school seriously, and you can turn out to be really successful as a lawyer, doctor, vet and more.

If you keep on wanting something, yet you do not go and try to achieve what you want you will most likely end up never getting it. Stop believing that people are just given a extraordinary life automatically because they work to earn their life. You are the only person stopping your self from making your life the best it can be. If you have a negative attitude and always put your self down become as amazing as it could be. Make the best out of life, fulfill your dreams and work hard, then you will experience true joy and belief within your self.

Pain and joy are the two most significant factors of life. When you think about it, pain and joy create many other factors and emotions. Pain can lead to fear, envy, hostility, resentment, depression and many other negative characteristics. These characteristics can destroy important relationships and other things in life, such as job opportunities and success. Although, pain creates some bad characteristics, it can also enable us to be stronger people. From the experiences of pain or hard times in our lives we can become stronger people from having to cope with the suffering.

In fact, pain can even help people defend themselves or others. The French Revolution is a great example of how pain and suffering can lead to so much more than just depression. The people at the “bottom of society”, also known as the poor decided rebel and stand up for them selves after suffering from being poor and not having enough rights. The poor people were tired of fighting poverty and not having the same rights as the wealthy people. This shows that pain can help us become stronger emotionally and help us stick up for our own rights and respect.

Pain also gives us a lot of experience which can help one know what to do in a challenging situation. For example, if someone was getting bullied severely daily and could not stick up for themselves, sometimes there is that impressive person who sticks up for the victim. Perhaps this person is strong enough to stick up for other victims because they know from experience how scarring bullying can be. Sometimes long periods of pain can lead to pure delectation. When someone has been through so much pain and they finally have the courage to stick up for themselves, it can lead to joy.

Human nature is odd because when someone hurts another, they always try to use a weaker opponent as their victim. When the opponent fights back, the person is dismayed because they thought they could get away with making someone else’s life harder. When one has fought back all their insecurities, it can lead to happiness because they finally have enough courage to defend themselves. In my opinion, I think joyful people make this world a better place. Joyful people make a huge impact on this planet because they motivate others, care for others, try to make others happy and create liveliness.

Joyful people create more joyful people. Think about it, when you see a really happy person, doesn’t it inspire you to be happier and live life more? Not to mention, it is fantastic having a very joyful, amusing friend because they don’t ruin relationships with their problems or negative attitude. Joyful people are entertaining individuals with positive attitudes. Perhaps if we had more joyful people the Earth would be a better place. Wars and conflicts between other countries would stop because people would be happy with their own country and people.

Happiness would prevent pointless arguments and conflicts over the silliest things because we would all love each other and treat each other people with respect. Unfortunately, everyone is not happy because we have so many problems in our societies. Happiness is hard to obtain with so many economic, government and nature problems within the world. But, maybe pain is a good thing to have considering it has established today’s society and relationships among human beings. Pain and joy help us see the beauty in life and other people. Pain and joy are momentous in our world because they help shape our societies and lives.

Without pain, we would not be truly happy. Joy cannot exist without pain because pain allows you to appreciate delight more, you have to endure the pain and pain and joy are significant factors in life. In order to get through pain, one has to be emotionally strong and remember that they will get through their hard times. Pain is the obstacles in life which we have to defeat, yet we still have to live our lives to the fullest. Appreciate the happy times because they might not last for long and take the aggravating times as they are. “Life is painful and messed up.

It gets complicated at the worst of times, and sometimes you have no idea where to go or what to do. Lots of times people just let themselves get lost, dropping into a wide open, huge abyss. But that’s why we have to keep trying. We have to push through all that hurts us, work past all our memories that are haunting us. Sometimes the things that hurt us are the things that make us strongest. A life without experience, in my opinion, is no life at all. And that’s why I tell everyone that, even when it hurts, never stop yourself from living. ” -Alysha Speer
