Michael managed to keep this beautiful voice his entire lifetime, being very consistent in his entertainment. His voice did not change much from th”ABC-123,” to Thriller. His creative genius, hard work, and love for his art make him an unrivaled talent. His music will be listened to and enjoyed for centuries to come. However, his angelic voice and dance moves were not just given to him. Michael once said of the rehearsal sessions that his father would sit in a chair watching and listening and holding a belt and “if you didn’t do it the right way, he would tear you up, really get you”.Michael’s singing voice earned him high praise, and he would be called a prodigy as a child, unlike many other artists of his time. He had five hit singles by age 14 to his credit: “ABC-123,” “I’ll be there,” “I want you back,” and “The love you save,” as the Jackson 5’s lead singer. He was declared the eleventh best vocalist of contemporary music, according to MTV’s “22 Greatest Voices in Music History” (Michael Jackson’s Voice).

From the Jackson Five’s Triumph tour in 1981 to his solo documentary “This Is It” in 2009, Jackson never failed to entertain millions of fans.

He always encouraged his musicians and back up performers to do their best, thus making his overall performance that much better. Coming from a big family of talent, Michael Jackson still emerged as a star and exceled in the entertainment industry. Secondly, Michael Jackson also has the best-selling album of all time under his belt. Thriller is the sixth studio album by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was released on November 30, 1982, by Epic Records as the follow-up to Michael’s commercially successful 1979 album Off the Wall.

Thriller explores similar genres to those of Off the Wall, including pop, R;B, and rock. Recording sessions took place between April and November 1982 at Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California, with a roduction budget of $750,000, assisted by producer Quincy Jones (“Achievements”). The album won a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards at the 1984 Grammys.Thriller enabled Jackson to break down racial barriers via his appearances on MTV and meeting with President of the United States Ronald Reagan at the White House (“Thriller”). The album was one of the first to use music videos as successful promotional tools, such as the videos for “Thriller”, “Billie Jean” and “Beat It.

” All three of those videos received regular airtime on MTV. In 2001, a special edition issue of the album was released, which contains additional audio interviews, a demo recording and the song “Someone In the Dark”, which was a Grammy-winning track from the “E. T. he Extra-Terrestrial” storybook. Michael Jackson has been making headlines in the media since the release of his award-winning album Thriller in 1982.

However, these headlines were not always positive. Michael Jackson has been portrayed very negatively in the last few years of his life, though some refuse to pay attention to the media and continue to see Michael Jackson as one of the greatest to ever walk the earth. Lisa Campbell states in her book, “I hope to present here a clearer picture of the world’s most successful entertainer.

” Michael Jackson is an endlessly talented singer and a dancer who has no peer. One publication devoted entirely to Michael Jackson describes him as the following message: “To describe this fragile, delicately framed young man as a singer would be an injustice. To call him a dancer would be an understatement.

Call him a one man entertainment sensation and you’ll be nearer the truth. Michael Jackson is a self-contained PERFORMANCE. He is mesmeric. He commands one hundred percent attention, and receives it. ” The people today that are questioning Michael Jackson’s flaws and troubles in his later life are completely missing out on the good that he did for the world. His battle against multiple skin diseases showed the world that anything can be conquered with the right state of mind. He perfected almost everything he did, while at the same time battling conditions that would stop many in their tracks.

He gave back to the world in so many ways, supporting the building of many hospitals, schools, and orphanages in Africa. In 1984, he and Lionel Richie co-wrote the song “We Are the World,” which raised $63 million for famine relief, and AIDS relief programs. He also gave over $500 million to charities all over the world during his lifetime.Regardless of what the media portrays him as, he will always be a celebrated entertainer and a musical legend (Campbell 2-4). In 2008, the album was reissued again as Thriller 25, containing re-mixes that feature contemporary artists, a previously unreleased song and a DVD. Thriller ranked number 20 on Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list in 2003 (“Achievements”).

It was also listed by the National Association of Recording Merchandisers at number three in its “Definitive 200 Albums of All Time. The Thriller album was included in the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry of culturally significant recordings, and the Thriller video was included in the National Film Preservation Board’s National Film Registry of “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant films” (“Thriller”). This album has raised Michael Jackson above all other artists of our time with proof of why he is the best. Lastly, Michael Jackson is known as one of the best dancers of all time due to his very precise motions.

Even as an 8-year old boy, Michael Jackson has been receiving applauses and standing ovations for his unrivaled entertainment abilities. He and his brothers, also known as the “Jackson Five” has been doing performances since the Gary, Indiana citywide talent show in 1966. Michael Jackson always stood out as a singer and dancer, but they all worked hard and fought to be as good as they are with the help of their very strict father. Their father wanted them to be more than a small town act, and pushed them to their entertaining limits, severly punishing them for missing notes and being one second too slow on a dance move.

These acts helped them achieve greatness, and each of them has always thanked their father for pushing them to be what they are (Krohn 1-2). He has shocked the world with an array of unique dance moves that he has mastered and performs with precision and accuracy. Growing up as a kid, Michael worked hard to impress his father, putting in hours of practice to get each step perfect.

Unlike most professional dancers, Michael Jackson remained true to his dance moves, not letting any coach or professional dancer teach him any other way.He danced unlike any other human being walking on the planet, which is what made his technique so great (“Michael Jackson Dance”). Best seen in his music videos or live performances, Michael’s dancing style is made up of certain components which make it so unique. The precision came from isolation and focus. He performed each move alone as if he was posing, keeping the very sharp and not continuing onto the next until one was completely followed through. He also performed his moves with a sense of weightlessness. It seems his body had a sense of freedom from gravity and had no mass or muscles.

He also used every day scenarios and athletic components to bring his moves to life. Shadow-boxing and other familiar moves drawn from athletics and pop dances created a life-like atmosphere in his perfomances that really drew in an audience’s attention. Like the brilliantly choreographed gliding steps that formed his signature moonwalk, Jackson’s nervy, high-speed turns seemed to operate in zero gravity, and his finest dance performances gave the illusion of being in a snap shot of a photograph. He moves seemed almost accidental, but in perfect balance and faultless control (Segal). His performances over the years has took audiences on adventures, each telling a different story and portraying a different side of Michael: a lover, a monster, a streetwise kid, a man of many cultures, and a smooth criminal.

Michael Jackson has given us many memorable performances that are legendary to this day. These performances include the first time he showcased the moonwalk in his legendary performance of “Billie Jean” in 1983 at the Motown 25th anniversary show. Also, his music videos for his hit singles “Beat It,” “Smooth Criminal,” and “Thriller” also showcase his amazing talents and are still watched by millions of people today(“Michael Jackson Dance”). His vocal talents partnered with these insanely good dance moves just add to his resume as the greatest artist of all-time. According to NME magazine, Michael Jackson is the undisputed “Greatest Singer of All Time.

” He was proclaimed with this honor after a poll consisting of ten million registered votes chose him as the winner. His unique and very musical mind contribute to his unrivaled performances. The world may never see better singing or dancing than that of Michael Jackson.
