One of the advantage is that the employee can go back to themessage can read it again and again to understand it better. For example, thefreshers who cannot understand what the manager is trying to explain him/hercan read the text message/emails and can refer it back and forth to get tounderstand it better.Sending text messages insteadof talking over the call can be advantageous for the manager too; as themanager can compose the message once and can send the same thing all the peoplehe/she needs to send to.
Text messages have their owndisadvantages too. Text messages can consume little amount of time for examplethe manager instructs employee to do something and the employee doesn’tunderstand what the manager is trying to ask him to do. In this case theemployee has write back to the manager asking his doubts/concerns and themanager may read it after a while if he was caught in some work and theemployee too can read the reply of the manager later. So, in the whole processthere is a considerable loss of time.Text messages limit the informationthat can be shared, as the messages can be hacked, and the confidentialinformation of the company can be leaked.
