There involve steps in the communication processand in two-way communication has four major steps:1.Encoding the message2.Communication Media 3.Decoding the message 4.FeedbackThese above four steps play a major role which helps the managersand professional to do a better job and there are few noise or interruptionwhich could block the message. This has to be known by the managers andprofessionals such as to motivate them, information sharing, encourage teamwork.

For all of these good communications are very much essential. Correlationand effective communication and engagement from employees results in higherbenefits. Effective communication provides a clear understanding of what isdemanded from them, with the knowledge of what to do and what to expect. 2.    To what extent are you concerned that your talents will gounnoticed if you are a strong team player? Ans: When the talent and skills of the individual isnoticed, he/she becomes a strong team player but certainly the reward goes tothe team and not to the individual for the achievement.

A team player shouldhave the quality of adapting and to be flexible in any form of situations andtrustworthy. Communication skill is important for an individual, this buildsthe confidence in the team. Team player should welcome and be open to the ideasand views given by the team. 3.

   Give an example of a tough question that amanager might ask a team. Ans: If the members of the team failed to completethe assigned task in the given time period, below are the commonly askedquestion by the manager to the team: ·        Reason for notcompleting the task on given period of time.·        Was there afault of management?·        Was the timegiven insufficient?·        Is there lessresource to complete the task? ·        Can the taskbe completed by EOD if extra resource is provided?·        How much timeis still required to complete the project? 4.   In what way is participating ona sports team, musical band, or orchestra good preparation for being a memberof a work group on the job. Ans: Job is just not about completing the workhowever it’s also about the involvement in the activities conducted at workplace. It is to keep the work environment more alive and united and keep themental relaxation.

Participating on a sports team, musical bandor orchestra are good to create an engaging and positive learning environment. Leadershipcan be noticed by these activities, there are other qualities which can beevaluated by the engagement or involvement in the extra activities. 5.   Some managers send text messages instead oftelephoning or sending e-mails to employees and potential job candidatesbecause they think this is how younger workers prefer to communicate.

 What do you see as the advantages and disadvantages of using text messages tocommunicate in the workplace?  Ans: Text messages have both the advantagesand disadvantages. One of the advantage is that the employee can go back to themessage can read it again and again to understand it better. For example, thefreshers who cannot understand what the manager is trying to explain him/hercan read the text message/emails and can refer it back and forth to get tounderstand it better.Sending text messages insteadof talking over the call can be advantageous for the manager too; as themanager can compose the message once and can send the same thing all the peoplehe/she needs to send to.

Text messages have their owndisadvantages too. Text messages can consume little amount of time for examplethe manager instructs employee to do something and the employee doesn’tunderstand what the manager is trying to ask him to do. In this case theemployee has write back to the manager asking his doubts/concerns and themanager may read it after a while if he was caught in some work and theemployee too can read the reply of the manager later. So, in the whole processthere is a considerable loss of time.Text messages limit the informationthat can be shared, as the messages can be hacked, and the confidentialinformation of the company can be leaked.  Why is experience working on a cross-functional team particularly valuable for a person who aspires to a career in management? Ans: The cross-functioning team in general is ateam of people who represents the interest of the entire organization. Thisteam benefits the employees, customers and the organization as well. Thecross-functioning teams deal with all the primary teams – marketing, sales,support, production, professional services etc.

It’s the one team which has toknow and understand the role of all the primary teams and has to come up withthe solutions and improvements. This requires lot of management skills as you are dealing not just with one but everyteam in a big organization. So, if a person works in here, he gets some verygood exposure to management which can be a great asset to someone whoaspires to a career in management  7.   How would employees sending messages to eachother on Twitter and Facebook during work hours improve organizationalcommunications? Ans: Social media influences many aspects of ourdaily life today and workplace is no exception.

They are the information-basedtools that are used to exchange and share information. Some of the well-knownsocial media platforms are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. These platforms canbe used to enhance the productivity of the employees by developing connectionswith colleagues and resources around the world. The platforms can be used invarious ways like online profiles, internet forums, pictures and videos,podcasts, to name just a few. These can be of great use to the organization indifferent ways. The departments in an organization can conduct brainstormingsessions on a blog or a Facebook page, teams can make use of wikis for managingprojects, ideas and research works. Social platforms can be greatly used tobuild or strengthen personal relationships among coworkers of an organization.
