primary caregiver in the education of his or her child. Parents can help
demonstrate involvement at home by reading with their children, helping with
homework, and discussing school events or at school, by attending functions or
volunteering in classrooms. Schools with active parents help those parents be
engaged in different school activities, converse with them regularly and give
them the opportunity to be involved in the learning process, this way parents
are nurturing children’s education that may enhance their drive to learn.

In a recent study
conducted by CCSRM, students with parents who are actively involved in their
school activities are those students who excel academically. Reasons such as
students feel more confident knowing that their parents extend their support to
them in school, and students feel that they are undergoing a more personalized
