•And social media itself
The primary research method I have chosen to obtain my information with is by using questionnaires. A questionnaire is a primary research method that is used to ask a series of preset questions related to a topic, participants provide answers to open and closed questions. This method is most suited to my topic because it is the best way to obtain the most amount of needed information over a wider audience. My target audience will be teenagers as suggested in the topic question.
•Sampling is that part of statistical practice concerned with the selection of an unbiased or random subset of individual observations
•Structured questions are questions that are predetermined and cannot be changed •Quantitative data is the collection of statistical data like numbers that can be measured and compared and put into charts and graphs, they usually come in the form of multiple choice questions
•Qualitative data is the collection of descriptions and data that cannot be compared and measured and is also descriptive.
•Bias is when something is in favour of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.
•Convenience sampling involves the sample being drawn from that part of the population which is close to hand
•Ethics are moral principles that govern a person’s behaviour or the conducting of an activity The sampling method used will be convenience because it will be easier to hand out my questionnaires. I will be surveying a combination of male/females spread out among 20 questionnaires as my sample size and my target audience will be teenagers as suggested in the topic question. I will be using structured questions because the answers have been predetermined.
I will also be using quantitative and qualitative questions because I will be gaining statistics as well as personal answers. I will also ensure that I use ethics to make sure the rights of participants don’t get forgotten. These methods of obtaining information will best help me in getting as much information as needed. Possible problems that may occur will be the amount of time that I will have ti complete this research, there could be bias involved because being a teen myself I will have opinions and I can’t make general assumptions about the topic I have chosen. The sources used would be TV programs and articles that report on the topic aswell as magazines and newspapers. I also came up with this topic because of personal interest.
