The Great Gatsby is a novel written by an author F. Scott Fitzgerald that tells a story of characters living in the town of West Egg. The three main characters throughout this novel are Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway and Daisy Buchanan. Jay Gatsby is thirty years old at the time of this story, who was born from rural town in North Dakota. Jay Gatsby achieved his wealth by partaking in organized crime. Gatsby’s dedication was to work tremendously hard to build his wealth for Daisy Buchanan and himself to live the rest of their life’s together. Gatsby first met Daisy as a military officer at a station in the United States before he left to fight in World War I. Mr Gatsby’s weakness was falling in love with Daisy and tried to win her back. Nick Carraway moves to Long Island to learn the bond business in New York City, which is the stock market capital. Nick Carraway becomes Gatsby’s new neighbor, Nick is the perfect narrator of this novel because he is Daisy’s cousin, which empowers him to observe and help the love affair between Gatsby and Daisy. Mr Carraway’s strength throughout this novel particularly in  chapter 1 he is quiet, tolerant and open minded and exceedingly a well listener. This is exceptionally good because others like to tell him secrets like Gatsby in particular. Nick Carraway comes into a conflict with his romantic affair with Jordan Baker. Nick knows she is immensely dishonest and lacks respect to others, his weakness is falling in love with Jordan Baker. 
Daisy Buchanan is Nick Carraway’s cousin who Jay Gatsby deeply loves and tries to win her back by making her the single goal. Jay Gatsby created immense amounts of wealth through criminal activity. Daisy is shallow individual who is beautiful charming young lady who falls short of Gatsby’s ideas.

The author created Nick Carraway to narrate his story of Jay Gatsby and Daisy and other characters of “The Great Gatsby,” Nick Carraway is a good choice regarding the choice for a narrator. Nick tells the story in a first person view, but he is in fact able to tell us the story of Gatsby and Daisy from a third person point of view.
