Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I have visited many places throughout the United States; however, none are as exciting as San Diego, California. In San Diego there are many places to go and sights to see. For example, Mission Beach, Sunset Cliffs, Qualcomm Baseball Stadium are all in or near the city of San Diego. Mission Beach is a beach and a theme park containing anything from sweet treats to fun rides. Mission Beach provides many activities for all ages. It is not at all uncommon to see everyone walking in their bathing suits, sandals, and sunglasses roaming around the park.
Older children and adults who possess strong stomachs may enjoy riding the various roller coasters available. For example, the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster is my favorite. It goes up and down steep hills and even loops upside down. Mission Beach does not have any water rides available for people to keep them cool well only the beach and sand. Mission Beach also has games to play and many souvenir shops. As for sweets I mentioned earlier, the big ice cream cones are absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Mission Beach as a place to go when visiting San Diego area.
Sunset Cliffs is another tourist attraction near San Diego. Sunset Cliffs is a neighborhood in the Point Loma community of San Diego, California. The cliffs are bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west, Ocean Beach on the north, Catalina Blvd. and Santa Barbara St. on the east, and Sunset Cliffs Natural Park on the south. They named the area after the sheer cliffs which border the ocean. Sunsets Cliffs Natural Park is a public shoreline park which includes the entire strip of land immediately adjacent to the ocean, as well as a larger area of undeveloped and nature preserve on the south side of the area.
Below the cliffs there are surfing spots. The cliffs trails are popular for walking and watching the sunset, but are undeveloped and can be dangerous. Several falls have resulted in injuries in December 2008 a woman died from a fall from the cliffs. I definitely enjoyed watching the sunset from the Cliffs walking on the beach. Last, but definitely not least, is the exciting Qualcomm Stadium. I wish I could have spent most of the time there when visiting San Diego. The stadium was packed with rowdy Padres fans wearing various forms of San Diego paraphernalia.
There are many concession stands which sell hot dogs, pizza, nachos, cold drinks and pretzels my favorite. It is exciting to see all of the players dressed in uniform, not forgetting the overweight coaches. The San Diego Padres are a Major League Baseball team based in San Diego. They play in the National League Western Division. They are the only MLB tea based in California to never win a World Series. They have won the National League Pennant twice, in 1984 and 1998 but lost both times the World Series.
As for 2012 they the San Diego Padres had 13 winning season in history. The 2012 season was their 44th season in MLB, and their eighth at PETCO Park. The Padres finished with a record of 76-86, fourth place in the NL West. I am hoping there will be another chance this year. Another exciting thing to do while at a Padres game is to get autographs. The players usually give them pot before the game starts. I wish I could have had at least one of the player’s autographs but I arrived late to the stadium so I missed my chance.
In conclusion, there are many places to visit in San Diego. The most exciting ones are Mission Beach, Sunset Cliffs, and Qualcomm Baseball Stadium. Each one offer several forms of fun for all ages. For instance, Mission Beach offer rides for kids as well as rides for the older children and adults. Sunset Cliffs offers Sots for surfing and trails for walking to see the sunset. Lastly, the Qualcomm Baseball Stadium offers great food and famous autographs. Everyone should visit the city of San Diego at least once, I know I have.
